ALICE HENDERSON In a way, Alice Henderson may have been born to write Buffy books...she only had to wait until Joss
Whedon came up with the character before she could have a go at the Slayer.
At the tender age of six, precocious young Alice embarked on her life's goal of being a writer, and it
wasn't long before she discovered a very real affinity for supernatural tales. Following college, she
became a teacher (of writing, of course), while also continuing to work on short stories, novels, and
even screenplays, honing her craft along the way. She then went on to earn her M.A. in Folklore,
allowing her to pursue her passion for worldwide mythology.
Following a stint writing for Lucasfilm Ltd., she made the plunge into being a full-time freelance writer,
and it wasn't long before she was asked to contribute to the Stake Your Destiny line with NIGHT
TERRORS. That has led to her next impending Buffy novel, PORTAL THROUGH TIME, where she will
get to indulge in some of her own interests through Buffy, by taking the Slayer into the past where,
among other places, she'll find herself in the British Isles during the Roman invasion as well as in ancient
Sumeria facing mythological creatures.
For fun, Alice likes to translate Medieval Welsh tales and journey through national parks...the more
remote, the better.
